SharesMint (“SharesMint,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect information when you visit or use the SharesMint website, memberships, issuer dashboards, issuance workflows, document upload tools, verifier pages, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

3. How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain the Services,
  • create and manage accounts and memberships,

4. Public, Distributed, and Onchain Visibility

Some information used in the Services may become visible outside your private dashboard depending on how you use the platform.

For example:

  • wallet addresses included in an issuance may be public,
  • IPFS-linked files or metadata may be accessible through public gateways,
  • onchain transaction hashes, token IDs, and metadata URIs may be publicly visible on the relevant blockchain.

You are responsible for deciding what information to include in certificates, metadata, and linked records.

5. Document Storage and IPFS

SharesMint’s public site states that uploaded share certificate PDFs and issuance metadata may be pinned to IPFS, including through Pinata or similar gateway access.

Because of the nature of distributed storage, some materials may remain accessible through cached or distributed systems even after account changes or deletion requests. Do not upload unnecessary personal or sensitive information.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, session tokens, and similar technologies to:

  • keep users signed in,
  • remember preferences,
  • support site functionality,
  • understand usage patterns,
  • support analytics,
  • secure sessions and accounts,
  • improve performance.

You may be able to control some of these through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality.

7. How We Share Information

We may share information:

  • with service providers who help us operate the Services,
  • with wallet, hosting, analytics, storage, security, and infrastructure vendors,
  • with payment or checkout providers where needed to process access,
  • with IPFS pinning or gateway providers as needed for storage and retrieval,
  • when required by law, legal process, subpoena, or governmental request,
  • to protect rights, safety, security, users, or the public,
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets,
  • with your consent or at your direction.

We do not sell your personal information for cash in the ordinary course of operating SharesMint.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Services,
  • maintain accounts and memberships,
  • preserve issuance, verifier, billing, and operational records,
  • support security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and support history,
  • comply with legal obligations,
  • enforce our agreements.

Retention periods may vary depending on account status, membership history, technical needs, legal requirements, dispute risk, and whether distributed or onchain records are involved.

Public blockchain and distributed-storage records are not fully controlled by us and may be permanent or difficult to delete.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of storage, transmission, or online operation is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials, devices, and wallet tools.

10. International Use

If you access the Services from outside the jurisdiction where our systems are operated, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in jurisdictions with different privacy laws than your own.

By using the Services, you consent to such transfers to the extent permitted by law.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • access certain personal information,
  • correct inaccurate information,
  • request deletion of certain information,
  • request a copy of certain information,
  • object to or limit certain processing,
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

These rights are not absolute and may be limited by security needs, fraud prevention, dispute preservation, technical constraints, legal requirements, or the nature of public blockchain and distributed-storage records.

12. Third-Party Services

The Services may rely on or link to third-party services such as wallets, payment tools, hosting providers, analytics providers, storage systems, IPFS infrastructure, and blockchain infrastructure.

We are not responsible for the privacy or data practices of third parties. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
